A good work of apologetics and theology, aimed at eradicating Protestant ideas... Printed in Metz, with a fine printer's mark depicting a saint. On the second blank page a handwritten note by the author Charles Abel: Martin Meurisse, bishop of Madaure died on August 22, 1644, after having administered the diocese of Metz for 16 years, as suffragan to bishop Henri de Bourbon. He wrote an in-folio history of the bishops of Metz. A monument to him was erected in the cathedral. His epitaph bears a pompous eulogy in Latin... A copy in very good condition, despite the restorations.
