VOLTAIRE - Romans et contes. Bouillon, Aux dépens de la Soci - Lot 271
VOLTAIRE - Romans et contes. Bouillon, Aux dépens de la Société Typographique, 1778; in-8, 304 + 320 + 236 + 102 pp. 19th century full marbled calf bindings, ornate smooth spines, red morocco title-pieces, speckled edges. All 3 volumes. Rare Bouillon edition with frontispiece and complete with 58 engravings by Monet. On the engraving where Candide is having her buttocks bitten by the monkeys, Candide is naked, which means that this is a first printing. Also complete with a notice to the bookbinder to place the engravings in the text... A very fine copy....
