In 1576, the collection containing the most memorable things was published anonymously by the Genevan presses. They were completed and republished in 1578. They are attributed with certainty to Pastor Simon Goulart. The work analyzes the St. Bartholomew's Day massacres, denouncing the monarchy's involvement. A ruling by the Bordeaux Parliament on May 7, 1579 ordered the book to be burned in front of the royal palace at l'Ombrière....
