Jacques GRUBER (1870 - 1936) Large and rare stained glass wi - Lot 96
Jacques GRUBER (1870 - 1936) Large and rare stained glass window made by the master stained glass artist in the 1920s, typical of the artist's work at that time, depicting a bird of paradise with spread wings in a landscape teeming with flowers and foliage embellished by two fluted columns. A favorite theme of Art Nouveau, the artist's work nevertheless foreshadows, through the use of more refined lines and forms, the growing development of the Art-deco movement. Signed lower center, Dim. of the stained glass window 116 x 156 cm. The stained glass window made in 3 parts is integrated in a wooden frame and hammered iron backlit, Dim with frame : 136 x 170 cm.
